- Since my first trip to Gettysburg as a young boy, I've been captivated by History. I get it from my mom. Although she passed away when I was just 13, she still had an influence on me. All our family vacations were stitched around some historical site. So, history geeks are in my blood. I'm a graphic designer by profession and a semi-amateur painter. I love to explore history through my paintbrush. I've also done living history to get a first hand feel for "what it was like". Looking at history through the eyes of the common man (or woman) and understanding the personal, human drama is really the spice that flavors the historical stew!

Onn the March to Gettysburg

Edit Post

This weekend I'll be heading out to Gettysburg, PA (thursday in fact) to attend the Artist Preservation Groups art and miniature show to benefit historic preservation. Being a board member, it should be a very busy few days for me.
Besides the great artwork on display there will also be special tours (we'll see artifacts not on display normally) and seminars. Keith Rocco will be talking about his artistic method along with a National Park historian who will do a presentation about the newly refurbished Cyclorama!
If you are interested in attending, find more info here. If you can't make it, I'll give a report when I get back.

Pete, Those are great studies. It'll be great to be able to talk shop. ~Gary
Okay I'm going to ask. Are either one of these spoken for? I like both but I'm probably partial to the Confederate. ~Gary
Hey Gary, great seeing you last weekend! Actually, I sold the reb to Bill Ottinger at the show. I still have the yank if you're interested.
